Paint the nails half black, half white. Ombre the colors together on the middle nail. This is going to bring out a unique effect in the next step.
Apply a 1 color of chameleon/ multi dimensional gel polish over all the nails. With the base background the chameleon polish shows through different colors on top.
sketch the base of where you want your skull, use the one stroke technique to outline the skull with two shades of brown to give it depth.
start drawing in where your facial features will sit, add highlight and contrasting where needed.
add additional contrast/ highlight if necessary. Use a calligraphy pen and acrylic paint to sketch ultra thin lines to give the appearance of wear and tear.
using the one stroke technique and two shades of blue start adding the waves in her hair. Make sure they flow. (pin up curl is optional :D)
Add bandanna, add smoke by applying a line of polish and taking a soft brush dipped in acetone to blot the color around.
add green/ blue waves in at the point you want to introduce transition.
add details to bandanna, vines, branches etc.
add flowers, birds, polish bottles and pirate ships to create a more natural flow
