Hi Amby,
my tips 4U are:
1.practice makes better.2.I use Avon polishes...they work great all the time I use 3 avon colour to combine...very easy spread on water easy to draw on:)
3.clean each cup proply after each finger sometimes stays rubish on the water surface.
4.Normal tap water.
5.use white as the background:)
6.I draw with a needle:)
