Were were asked to recreate a board game for our 2nd challenge. They asked us to create this on ten nail tips and use gel for our 3d elements and we were allowed to use non-nail pieces. I chose LIFE as my inspiration for this challenge. My non-nail items are the people game pieces that go in the car. This brought back some great memories of my brother and I playing with our cousins at my grandmother's house on weekends. I hope you enjoy this as much as I enjoyed making it.

Step-by-Step Nail Art Tutorial

1
I started with Akzentz Options color gel in Teal Drop for my background. Then used Light Elegance primary gel paint for the grass, mixing white and yellow for the different shades. I used a short fast stippling stroke to create the grass. Afterward, I started painting the board map starting with Akzentz Gel play in white so that the background wouldn't show up through the color.

Since it was some beach scenery on the board, I decided to do the water in 3d. I mixed CND Additives in blue with some clear gel polish and painted it where I wanted the water, then I used Young Nails clear builder gel to create the moving water. You just need to put gel on the nail and while under the lamp move the end of a brush back and forth or up and own to create the effect.

I wanted a picnic blanket for my beach so I used red and white gel paint and layered the stripes. Then I removed it from the paper and cut the edges until the were even.
