NTNA Week 6-Gel II

I started with my water since our dowtown area sits on the mighty Mississippi. I used gel polish for my base and mixed different shades of blue before I used a blue and black pigment to make an ombre effect.  

After which I arranged the nails in a fan shape to start applying my blue hard gel to make the water ripples. When I was satisfied with the movement of my water, I used a gold and brown transfer foil to make the water look dirty and like the city is reflecting as well.  

I sculpted tiny panels for my buildings and a flat staggered background. I put the panels together with acrylic and refined them with an e-file and hand file.  

For my bridge, I used a sparkly black acrylic mix and sculpted panels for each side and bonded them with acrylic. QUICK TIP: If you use acetone in your monomer, it cuts down the dry time and you can move faster.  

I used the same acrylic for my pyramid. Sculpting four triangles, I was able to make the perfect pyramid.  

I used gel polish to paint my buildings and gel paint for my detailing. For the top of one of the buildings, I used some gold to make the top of the tower. We couldn't use wire, so I just let it drip down and shaped it simultaneously.  

I chose to make the other five nails my night sky and city background, so I painted some local graffiti on the sky and sculpted music notes to come out of Beale Street because at night, our downtown comes alive! My moon is simply some hard gel on transfer foil.
