This is my tutorial for Nails Next Top Nail Artist - pre-challenge #2. We were asked to create nails based on a favourite visual artist, and I chose Carmen Guedez. I love her work. I love her flower paintings, they are simple, the colours are amazing and I could easily see how they would fit into a nail design.
Step-by-Step Nail Art Tutorial

I started with sculpting a set of gel nails. I chose to do square, it made a perfect canvas to work on.

The nails were painted with acrylic paint, I started with white to create a blank canvas.

I started the beginning of the colour fades with yellow.

Next, a mix of yellow and brown.

A mix of 2 browns for the next fade.

Then the last colour was a dark brown.

I went back in and added more colour where it was needed, blended a bit more and finished the fade.

Next, I painted the stems for the flowers.

Then the petals, the hummingbird on the thumb and the final dots for the centre of the daisies.

And the final step, finish with top coat.
