We were asked to take the new Gel 2Skyscraper gel to the next level and do a skyline of a city across 10 nails. I did New York, equipped with a beautiful lit sky and Lady Liberty. I also added a trademark King Kong on top of the Empire State Building
I wanted to do New York for this challenge. VERY happy to finally be able to use acrylic to make 3D!! I used a nail airbrushing machine with acrylic paint and made a beautiful night sky on a huge sheet of gel. I made TALL towers, the New One World Trade Center, and I used clear gel to make the Twin Towers to remember the fallen. I added The Empire State Building and Chrysler Building and topped it with the famous King Kong! I cant forget Lady Liberty and sculpted her out of acrylic on a nail and Topped her on a monument that says New York. I added roads of nails going to her, since NY is known for its crazy traffic. Lady Liberty stands tall in the middle, front and center because she represents freedom and going forward. I added flowers and water, because the water surrounds so much of NY

For the night sky, I used Hard gel, put it all over the scrap book plastic and waited 10 minutes for it to settle before curing. I used the nail airbrush machine with highly pigmented acrylic paint and added different elements with the technique that street painters use with canned spray paint. After drying, I attached it to a nail to hold it upright.

For King Kong. I sculpted all of the outline for the body parts and built and built and built until I got the shape I wanted. With 3D acrylic, you start from the lowest and layer by layer add dimension. After I got the body made with white acrylic, I added black acrylic and while it was wet, I used a needle pen and scraped it around to give it a fur look. topped it with some fangs and claws

For the dark skyline I sculpted different shapes from acrylic and painted them black. I painted tiny random squares in white followed by neon yellow to seem to glow at night. \nAfter all of my elements were prepared, I lined them up in front of a double white background , becuse they are so high!!\nhope you enjoy and please vote for me in this weeks Challenge 6.
