NTNA - CND Challenge - Part 4 - Feathers

1. Create gel strips by applying Black LED Gel onto a plastic sheet. 2. After curing dust off with Gold Pigment and seal with a Flexy Top Gel. 3. Draw and cut out diamond shapes on the sheet in various lengths. 4. After rolling them into cones, seal them closed with Clear LED Gel. 5. Prepare a tip with the same method as discussed above. 6. Attach the gel cones to the tip with Clear LED Gel.  

1. Found these crazy, spiky feathers while on the hunt for inspiration. 2. After securing them in the gel tubes with Clear LED Gel, curl them back to the cuticle area of the tip to enhance the spikes. 3. Using multicolored gold flakes, create a rich, textured appearance at the cuticle area. 4. Add additional cuticle art with feathers and matching rhinestone.  

1. Using White Gel Paste create a feather on an Arabella Form for easy removal. Use a second layer to create deeper relief. 2. Apply a thin layer of Black LED Gel which will also create a tacky base for the Gold Pigment to adhere to. 3. Dust on the Gold Pigment along the edges of the feather to further enhance the relief. 4. Layer the feathers along the base tip, securing them into place with Clear LED Gel. 5/6. Finish the design by adding some layered chain detail at the cuticle area.  

1. Cover the tip with bronze leather. This offers a sassy structure of its own. Secure into place with All-Purpose Resin. 2. Cut out feather outlines from metal sheet to overlay the design. 3. Thin out larger feathers to create mini feathers and secure beads into place with Clear LED Gel. 4. Layer the metal feathers and secure with All-Purpose Resin. Secure the beaded feathers with Clear LED Gel.  

1 – 4. Same design as above with complimentary colors.  

1. Using polymer and monomer, create the head and features of the mystical face. 2. Enhance the face further using Gel Paste in order to create the feather like protrusions as headgear. 3. Apply a layer of Gold Nail Lacquer and create an antique look with Black Acrylic Paint. The paint should be applied slightly wetter to be able to fade into the design. 4. Create a black base tip using Black LED Gel. 4. Attach feathers to the black base using All-Purpose Resin. 5. Secure the mask into place with All-Purpose Resin.  

1. Using Clear LED Builder Gel create a 3D heart. 2. Refine the shape. 3. Apply two layers of Gel Polish and seal with a Top Gel. 4. Using Gel Paste create more feather-like protrusions matching the design above. 5. Secure the heart onto the feathered tip with All-Purpose Resin.  

1. Using Black LED Gel create a base for the Gold Pigment. 2. Dust Gold Pigment onto the tacky layer and seal with Top Gel. 3. Create cylindrical forms with the feathers and hold these in place using fine metal wire. 4. Adhere they feathers to the tip using Clear LED Gel. 5. Create a rich, textured structure on the base of the nail and over the metal wire using multicolored Gold Flakes secured into place with Clear LED Gel.  

1. Cut out basic feather shapes on metal sheet. 2. Using White Gel Paste apply a thin layer over the entire shape and then carve out the feather grooves using a clean, thin application brush. Cure. 3. Using Gel Paste apply more structure to the feather. Cure. 4. Apply a layer of Black LED Gel to the feather. Cure. 5. Dust the edges of the feather with Gold Pigment. Seal with Top Gel.  

1. Secure four feathers together using split pins. 2. Determine how far each feather will open and secure a piece of thin plastic thread to the top of each feather. This will prevent the individual feathers from moving in their own direction and will create a fan effect. 3. Secure the fan feathers to the bottom of each tip with Clear LED Gel.
