After properly prepping the natural nails, which includes proper sanitation, removing the cuticle, filing the free edge, dehyrdrating the nail plate, and then lightly etching the entire surface of the nail plate to remove shine. Then, apply free forms, making sure that the form fits flush to the underside of the free edge with no gaps. I used Tammy Taylor's acrylic line, so I prime all nails and let the primer dry. Then, right before laying acrylic onto the natural nail, I prime once more because Tammy always says, "work wet". I then layed a thin layer of clear acrylic from cuticle area to tip. Before removing the form, pinch in a nice C-curve before the acrylic sets. Acrylic has a "happy moment" where it isny too wet, but isnt too dry. Then remove the forms and file the edges clean.
Take a ball of pink acrylic half the size of the natural nail, and begin to sculpt the smile line, looking at all angles and making sure that the pink is even on all sides. Use the tip of the sable brush to "tuck" in the pink instead of dragging the brush along the sides. I formed thr acrylic into an almond shape. Then take another ball of pink acrylic and sculpt up to the cuticle area. Remember, when placing acrylic balls, place "with a purpose."
Do the same on all nails, be sure to leave enough space at the sidewalls to create a deep smile line.
Take a ball of white acrylic and push it up to the pink smile line, being sure to get it all the way up into the corners of the sidewalls. Then take a larger ball of white acrylic and cover the rest of the clear base we have created.
If there are any shadows, file until they are gone. File along the smile line to make sure it is crisp.
Then, with a medium sized ball of clear acrylic, make sure the apex is strong, this is the point of pressure that makes or breaks any nail. Starting flush at the cuticle, and thin as a credit card at the tip.
After capping the nails with clear acrylic, file and refine for smooth, seamless nails.
After buffing, brush off dust and wipe the nails with alcohol or a nail cleanser to remove any excess debris and oils. Then, apply gel top coat and cure, and don't forget the cuticle oil on the eponychium and hyponichium . & there you have it ! Beautiful sculpted pink and white acrylic nails !
