For this Challenge I wanted to try to stick to the modern french styles, Which has so much variety in 2014. I really like the french manicure style that has an opaque cuticle area and a bold free edge, (example a solid gray cuticle area with turquoise free edge). So I decided to base my french look off this style. After researching a little about LA, the fact that it is the CITY of ANGELS stuck out to me the most. so here is how you can get a C.A. (city of angels) French Manicure.
Step-by-Step Nail Art Tutorial

This picture of an angel standing over a cityscape was the basis of my nail design inspiration.

First I cleaned and prepped the natural nails. Then using young nails forms and CND Acrylic system I sculpted this set of nails into an almond shape.

Apply 2 thin coats of Vinylux Cityscape on all ten nails, allowing 5-10 minute drying time in between coats.

Using black acrylic paint and a fine nail art brush create the outline of the cityscape onto the free edge of the nail.

Using the same Acrylic paint and nail art brush use a striping motion to fill in the free edge leaving some of the background visible to depict windows on the buildings.

starting with the wings using a black acrylic paint and a short haired fine nail art bush create your silhouette of your angel, don't forget the halo

Using the original color Vinylux Cityscape nail polish apply a thin line down the center of you angel

apply matte nail polish, let completely dry. Then apply matte gel polish cure for 2-3 mins remove sticky layer and your done.
