I applied a shimmery midnight blue polish to most of the nails and added a few black accent nails. Leave one nail with a nude half moon.

Add 2 layers of topcoat to make sure the glitter sealed in and protected. Buff the surface to take off shine and smooth out any bumps and scratchy parts of the glitter. Before topcoating the final layer, randomly add some fine purple glitter and chunky black glitter.

On the other hand I left a larger keyhole cutout instead of a half moon. Using gold acrylic paint and a dotting tool, create some swirls on the blue nails.

Using white acrylic paint, create smaller dots surrounding the gold swirls. For the ring finger, I outlined the cutout and added some gold and black dots to the top.

On the half moon nail, use different sized dots and some tear drop shapes to mimic the beaded neckline.

For the black nails, place a few drops of water onto the nail and then swirl in different colored paints. I used blue, purple, white, and gold. Take the corner of a paper towel and soak up some of the excess liquid.

Once that dries, use a layer of gel topcoat to place on some smaller circular white glitters in a swirl shape. Add purple and black glitter to the exposed black gel polish. Cure. Seal with another layer of gel topcoat.

A femme fatale is a mysterious and seductive woman whose charms ensnare her lovers in bonds of irresistible desire, often leading them into compromising, dangerous, and deadly situations. She is often described as an enchantress or witch as she is able to entrance and hypnotize her victim with a spell. For my design I used this concept and incorporated some fashion inspiration as well. I’ve had this jacket saved in my inspiration arsenal for a while and thought it embodied the femme fatale concept perfectly. The deep blues, blacks, and purples give off the mysterious and seductive vibe of a femme fatale while the contrasting gold and white brings a feminine and romantic touch. The swirled design are evocative of the movements of magic spells. I also used a smoke technique to add another mysterious and enchanting element.
