NAILS NTNA Challenge 3
We were asked to focus on Entity’s Core Acrylic Line, and create the ultimate sculpted pink-and-white look. The nails must be sculpted on a model’s hand. No tips were allowed. Then NAILS mag wanted to see us turn our pink-and-white look into a haute couture masterpiece. We needed to take it one step further and embellish the nails any way we chose. (See my next tutorial ;) While they wanted the pink and whites made from acrylic, we could us any mediums to embellish the nails.
Step-by-Step Nail Art Tutorial
1
Apply extra large forms to the free edge of the nail. Make sure each form is butt up against the fingertip. Pinch the form when the desired angle is achieved. I pointed the form slightly downward to create a claw like direction.
2
Using a Blush Pink Acrylic, do a reverse french application. Form the nail base in an almond shaped tip.
3
Using White Acrylic begin to form the "bones" of the feathers. Make sure you sculpt outward and inward to create a wing shape.
4
Apply White Acrylic to the "bone" area and build 4 wavy stems on each nail from ends to tips. Apply 2 coats of Blush Pink Gel Polish to each base area of the nails ( be sure to cure in between each coat ).
5
Finally, apply a coat of CND Shellac Top Coat to the entire nail to create a nice shiny French look.
