Go to my photo titled "Purple Holographic Swirls" because I got the same question like what your asking so I posted a comment with the steps on how I got the look without damaging or crackeling the foil. Hope it helps! =)

The tip from Robin Moses was to use "The Best Glue Ever" instead of the regular transfer glue, I haven't gotten to play with foiling yet but pretty much trust everything out of that woman's mouth lol
