For this Weeks challenge we were asked to create a modern, Los Angeles-focused French manicure look. Nothing says LA like a good old Hollywood movie theatre like the iconic El Capitan.
Start with a clean prepped nail.\n
I chose to apply a sheer gold glitter as my base color to add a little Hollywood glitz. I then used white gel to outline my French tip, and filled it with teal glitter on the accent nail. This pulls in the teal from the El Capitan beautifully.
Add a second coat of the teal glitter to the tips.
Outline the rest of the nails with the basic shapes on the French tip to mimic the geometric features of the sign.
Fill in the rest of the tips with desired color. I chose white to pay homage to the original French manicure.\n
Using acrylic paint, outline the tip designs with gold to accentuate the lines.
Fill in the French tip with patterns found on the sign. I chose to pull in the rays from behind the logo, and polka dots for the lights.
Topcoat!
Add a teardrop gold stud to the middle finger to add a hint of old Hollywood to your nails. And you're ready to hit the town! (and go see a movie!)
